  • How do I know if you are the right therapist for me?
I offer prospective clients a 15-minute phone consultation to determine if we are a good fit. Finding the right therapist is critical and if we determine that your needs and my skill set aren’t a match, I will offer you referrals to colleagues that might be a better fit.
  • What happens after I schedule an appointment?
After your appointment is scheduled, you will get a link to fill out new client paperwork. Included in the paperwork is a consent for treatment, a HIPPA acknowledgement form and a client history form. The more detailed your history form, the better for me to get a snapshot of you, your life and your goals for therapy.
  • What happens during the first session?
At our first session, I will have reviewed your intake paperwork and will ask additional questions to fill in details and better determine your initial needs. We will review practice policies, confidentiality, frequency, and any other topics involved in getting started.
  • How often should we meet? How many sessions should I expect?
I am a firm believe in establishing a rapport and clearly understanding your needs and objectives when we get started. I recommend that we do weekly sessions for at least the first 2-3 months to establish that rapport, identify initial focus areas, and build momentum with treatment.
  • What are your credentials?
I am a board certified Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). I have a master’s degree in Counseling Psychology and I am a board certified Licensed Professional in both Colorado and Texas.
  • Do you offer remote consultations?
Yes, I do offer TeleHealth sessions. To book one of these sessions, go to the “Request Appointment” page and select a “Remote Counseling” session when you are booking.
  • What is your cancellation policy?
Any appointment not cancelled within one (1) business day of the scheduled time will be subject to the full fee.
  • Do you take insurance?
I am in-network with Cigna, Aetna and United Healthcare in Colorado. I encourage clients to call their insurance to inquire about their mental health benefits. When talking to your insurance, some good initial questions are: - Do I have to meet a deductible? - What is my co-pay? - For those who are out of network, ask what your out of network benefits are and how to file an out of network claim. If I am considered an out of network provider, I will create a SuperBill for you, which you can then submit to your provider for any reimbursement you may be entitled to.
  • How do virtual visits (Telehealth Sessions) work?
The day before your scheduled session, you will receive an email with a link to the session. The link will work directly from any desktop or laptop. If you are using a mobile device, you will need to download the SimplePractice app from your App Store. The video platform that I use is HIPAA compliant, which means it adheres to all data and information privacy laws.
