About Melissa
Melissa received her Master’s degree from Roosevelt University in Chicago, IL and has been a Licensed Professional Counselor since 2006. She has practiced in a variety of settings including inpatient behavioral health, residential treatment, child welfare, private practice, outpatient therapy and forensic competency restoration. Melissa offers compassionate, client-centered counseling services to adolescents and adults who are seeking to enrich their lives by healing old wounds, exploring current stuck points and moving forward with their lives with greater authenticity, peace and confidence.
Melissa has experienced the benefits of psychotherapy, self-compassion, mindfulness and yoga to manage anxiety and recover from childhood family dysfunction and a fractured family system. Melissa has found greater meaning and purpose in life, has strengthened her relationships and become a better parent through the work she has done in therapy throughout her life and wants to share these gifts with others.
In addition to working in private practice, Melissa provides individual and group therapy to employees of one of the world's largest technology companies, supervises provisionally licensed clinicians, and delivers continuing education training to other licensed clinicians.
A native Midwesterner, Melissa spent the formative years of her career in Chicago before moving to Austin, TX for 10 years. She calls Colorado home now, and when not chasing after her two boys at home on on an RV trip, Melissa can be found working in her garden. Melissa is a certified yoga instructor, lifelong fan of true crime books, documentaries and podcasts and she is a hopeless collector of VW vans.
